If all you are concerned about is floating and fishing I would STRONGLY suggest you list that boat on craigslist..... you might be surprised what you can get if you find the right buyer but heck even a hundred dollars plus what you would spend converting will get you a loooong way.... then shop around.... you should be able to pick up an outboard hull for anywhere from free to a few hundred dollars
EDIT: I just noticed your location..... I have no idea what old boats go for there
