I got into boating by fluke a couple of years ago. Now I can service my motor myself and keep my old boat running like new. I really like my boat but have not been able to get any information on it. Here are the particulars:

1973 Surfmaster.

Wondering who made it? I'm also looking for pictures of same brand of boats. I've seen a few but no one knows where they came from.

I've checked www.fiberglassics.com and discoboats.

I would also like any manuals.

Tx.

jferreira@kronos.com

Re: Information on a Surfmaster

I checked with larson and a Surfmaster was produced from the late '50's to the late '60's. My boat is a 1973 (Coast Guard Label) and the manufacturer is Surfmaster. Ther is no model.

Any help, pics greatly appreciated.

tx.

You might try Brunswick, as they took over Larson around that time. I'm just going by an article that I read on a Vintage Boat Site some time ago. Sorry i can't be of more help. There was another Manufactuer mentioned, but I don't recall who it was. Seems like it began with a "P" and was an odd name! Good luck and if I find anything else, I will post it!

Steam mill it may be a Larson but it also may be a canadian built boat -- I've seen them out here including a 15-16' that was parked next to a lumberyard near me for a while, although they are very far from common. Sort of an old fashioned mid-v hull runabout. Looked like it was built for lake use. Seems like there were a lot more local manufacturers in the old days and US boats didn't sell so well up here. I can name you 12 made in BC small glass boat makers off the top of my hat of which more than half went out of business by 1980.
