information on mercury motor

Hello, my brother and I just recently purchased a boat and motor. The guy didn't know too much on the motor. It's a 50 hp mercury motor. I believe it's a 4 cylinder. The serial number is 1424768. The motor is white if that helps. I'd like to know the year of the motor and what manual to buy for this motor. Any other information is greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.

It is either a 1961 or 1962.
