Initial start up

5.0 chevy, Alpha one gen 2. Installed new impeller. with muffs on and water running several minutes should I see water exiting drive before I start engine? Thanks

No the engine has to be running to start pumping water out towards the exhaust ports on the transom housing.

Agree with FT, if your impeller was bad and torn, then you would probably see water coming out without the motor running. The impeller seals off the water because it is a positive displacement pump, so when not moving it seals off
