Has anyone had success running an inline fuel filter for the larger 2 stroke mercury engines? I am flushing my fuel tank and would like to catch any particles left behind on my first test run. I have heard they just dont flow enough fuel and I know I have a screen in my engine, but an inline filter would be so convenient, at least temporarily. Looking for suggestions.

Don't believe that, BBC like a 502 once had inline fuel filters and they would need more fuel then a 150 2 stroke. That said I would suggest installing a permanent 10 micron canister fuel filter and not worry about it

Hurry, get a water separating fuel filter with a large spin on cartridge.----Most shops would have one in stock.

A lot of those motors already have an inline filter. Look under the cowling.

If you do not have one, I would recommend a spin-on water separator, as they are rated for 20-40 GPH in fuel flow.
