So I looked through the FAQ's and didn't see a reference there so I thought maybe this is the appropriate place to ask. I installed a universal fuel filter in my Evinrudes fuel line. I can see fuel go through it and I like that, maybe will let me see water if some happens to get in there. My question is- The paper won't pull the oil out of the mix will it?

If you want to check for water you need the proper filter which is mounted in a vertical position with a glass bowl on the bottom.

Yep, they're called fuel/water separators and they're usually mounted on the inside of the transom......one of the best preventive maintenance items you could install on your boat......combined with the regular use of a fuel stabilizer like Stabil, most fuel related issues should be eliminated....

This isn't one of those glass filters is it? I would not recommend those for use anywhere unless you want to burn up in a fire. They do make plastic ones you can see through, I would recommend one of them instead.
