Re: install styrofoam in bottom of jon boat?

All my small boats like yours have styrofoam under the seats. It's meant to keep the boat from sinking. It can be swamped but it will not sink to the bottom. You're adding weight with the floorboards. I've done this to most of my boats too but I was careful not to go too nuts. Without swamping the boat and then adding the weight of the floorboards, you'll have a hard time knowing for sure if it will still float. The styrofoam won't add any appreciable weight and can only help. I would add it especially in light of the fact you already have some. Yes, the white styrofoam will be perfectly fine for this application.
