I'd like to install a t-top on my cuddy and was wondering how difficult it would be and how i would measure what would fit. dont want to invest a ton of money, looking on craigslist for someone with a cheap/free boat that might let me snag the top. just curious if anyone has done this before.

first pic is of what i want to do and second is of my boat....

Re: Installing a hardtop?

haven't installed one but did remove mine. I didn't like the fact that when it was 90 degrees outside I got no wind inside the cabin. made for unpleasant boating during the heat of the summer. had a guy do new canvas so top is 7' tall with a dropdown curtain. very nice all year long.

just an observation.....that looks like the wayyyy wrong trailer for that boat...id get it fitted better or you will run into structural issuse after a short time.

as far as the top....a good friend of mine used a shower curtain with great sucess

Re: Installing a t-top

I frequently keep my eye out on craigslist and such as well for a cheap radar arch or hard top....my thoughts are that I think it would be a one in million shot to find one that fits with no modifications whatsoever but I figured the most important part would be to make sure the width is right to land on your gunwhale. being that many trailerable boats in are 8' or 8'6" beams most that you will find should be close but I dont think you want to be off on the width.....the front legs can probably be easily cut and new pads welded on to fit the shape of your cuddy.

so I would measure the center to center of your gunwhale aft of the helm and when you find one ask them what that dimension is.
