Wow! I can't believe this.
I have been trying to identify a remote shift / throttle / steering kit for my Merc 7.5 1985. After the serial number got rejected I got confused. My number doesnt match the posted numbers ( 7221752 ) then there are numerous parts numbers for remote kits for this engine (most of them obsolete or NLA) and I cannot find a manual for installing the kit.
Hopefully someone has this and will pm me a copy, and possibly someone has the bits and pieces to bolt on to my engine.
God made winters to give boaters time to catch up on things, but his winter may not be long enough.
Here in Manitoba we get 7 months of winter, and 4 1/2 months of tough sledding.
But with it being 30 below zero, I still pick strawberries in my hydroponic garden... :D

Umyup lotsa things on Ebay. Found several remote kits for 7.5 Hp 1985 Merc but when asked the sellers could not guarantee they would fit this engine. I am trying to find the correct part number so I can be sure what I buy will fit. A lot of sellers just buy up nOS parts and try to sell them with no idea what they really fit. And Mercury dealer no longer has info on kits that far back.
But I am watching....

FWIW, I picked up my 9.8 with steering and electric start on craigslist. granted it was 8 states away, however I had a family member pick it up that lived in that area and just retrieved it over a thanksgiving visit.
