We're about to install one of these critters and was wondering how far behind the master cylinder it should be or does it make any difference?

It's an Atwood 12 volt setup.

Where ever is best for attachment. Most I have seen are mounted to the main housing rear side which would put them about 3-4" off of the master.

That's exactly what I was trying to find. Thanks!!

Where we put this boat while not using it is backing up a somewhat steep hill so I would assume that it would be a good idea to get the bleed type solenoid valve? It would be the only time that this situation would come about. What do you think. I guess it's better safe than sorry.

Sorry about the double post.

The bleed type valve is the way to go. It's only a couple of bucks more and will save a lot of headaches in the long run.

It's a 2 way / 3 port valve that vents to a port that you plumb back into the actuator. It operates off the back up signals.

When actuated it closes the port from the actuator and opens the exhaust port to vent which allows the residual pressure trapped in the brake lines to vent back into the actuator.
