I want to install a three-way fuel valve on a 1995 Ebbtide with 4.3LX Mercruiser. The intent is to make initial startup every spring easier and quicker by using the valve to connect a portable tank for priming the fuel system per the Mercruiser Service Bulletin. The existing fuel hose between the tank and the fuel/water separator is 3/8inch ID. I have a fuel tank connector with a 3/8inch barb and 1/4NPT. Valve also has 1/4NPT. Is this okay or will the valve restrict fuel flow during normal operation? If not okay, need some recommendations. Thanks!

Ayuh,....

If you were plumbing in a 2nd fuel tank I could understand this question,...
But,...
If you just want to hook up a remote tank once a year,...
It'll be much easier to just pull the fuel line off the fuel filter,+ hook up the remote....

I'm with Bondo on this one....
Sounds like more trouble than it's worth. If your talking about starting it up that first time after it's been layed up all winter, just get a dixie cup and pour a little gas right down the carb. If everything else is in tune it should fire right up.

You change out the water separator,do you fill it with fresh gas before installing?

Just pour a few table spoons down the carb.
