Does anybody know where I can find printed instructions on rebuilding the fuel pump on a 1994 70 hp Force. I tried winging it today without instructions in the kit that I bought. It was a sierra kit. No instructions. All seemed simple enough except the two pins that go through the round disk. the little dog ear looking things when push through the holes didnt offer much resistance to keep them from coming back out. I ended up braking them off which left a hole in the center. Then i pushed it through the hole enough to make get a tight fit. After putting everything back together now I am getting a lot of spitting back through the throat of the carb. Idles good runs good at idle. Try giving it gas and it spits hard back through the carb. Watching the fuel flow through a see through fuel filter it does not seem to be getting much fuel. Have the same problem with the carb kit I bought. No instructions. any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

New kit!! Get another. If you broke the push pins then you need another set.
This is a simple job.Only a little force is needed to install the valve pins. Those plastic disks are the valves. They MUST remain flat.Try again.Just don't push so hard. Can you reuse the old?J
Post some pics.

Jerry the pins had a longer stem on them. The ones I took out did not. When I replace them again should I leave the stems on them or nip them off smoothly with nippers. I broke those off which exposed a small hole through the pin. Then I pushed the piece back in through. On the old ones that I took out they was a booger to get out and broke. Between the ears on the holding side it looked like there was something there spreading the ears to stay open and I assumed it was the stem. The new pins went in really easy and comes out really easy without doing this. Is that ok that way? I guess what I am trying to ask is what is required to keep the pin from backing out once inserted. That was my concern!

Thank you for taking the time to reply previously and hope to hear from you again. I am ordering another kit now.

Leave them long.Won't hurt a bit.Remember very little force is needed.I have pencil that the eraser is gone.I use that to push the pins. The pin is self locking once you push the head down to the plastic.J
