No thefts at my marina dont even take the electronics off, I just want to hook it up and let it stand or lay down by my battery hatch for during the week, can get a 50 watt on ebay for $100 and wire myself its worth a try

you will probably get less than 2 amps max if you lay it flat. These panel's wattage are rated at the max voltage which of course you will not be able to use so any voltage above 15 or so will be regulated down by a controller. The total watts is assuming 17V or so, so a 50W panel is olny going to deliver 3 amps max anyway.

Your marina doesn't have electrical?

I keep my boat with 30 others stored on our trailors in a grassy yard to the side of my marina and though we have water out there, there is no power and I'm to fussy to let it in the water and get filthy I'd rather dry store since we only use about every other weekend or grab it and head to the beach with it.
