Ok..... What's it do... besides testing Nascar engine distributors?
Is that a homebuild, or did you find plans someplace for that rig?

But seriously... what do you do with it???? Is is for looking for high speed ignition misses or something?

I built it myself, using an Marquette distributor machine and adding the necessary components to run an entire ignition system under load. It sort of evolved from a simple distributor spin fixture I made, and was inspired in part by the ($12,000) MSD spin fixture seen below.



But seriously... what do you do with it???? Is is for looking for high speed ignition misses or something?

I wanted to be able to test, monitor and control every aspect of an ignition system for diagnostic purposes and/or evaluation of system performance with various components (ever wonder much a "high output" coil really helps system performance?). I built it knowing that it was not the most practical piece of equipment, but I have learned a lot in the process and that's the reward.
