Re: Interesting

Leave it to plywoody to divert the topic.

I don't have much to add here, Ray said it all!
Other than to say I am tired of being made out to be the bad guy. My Grandfather was an immigrant from Russia in the late 1800's he strove and worked is a$$ off the get evrything he got even though he suffered all sorts of discriminations. but the family did their utmost to become a part of main stream society. English became the only spoken language around the house.

Now you have these biggoted Rev.'s driving a wedge between the blacks and the whites. How the white community owes them this and that. And these poor ignorant smucks are buying every word. (Insert sarcasm here.) It couldn't possibly be that they drop out of school, get caught up in gangs, become objects of the law. Naw! Has to be the white communities fault that they are not succeeding.

This country owes you NOTHING. You have every tool at your disposal to succeed. What you choose to do with those tools are no ones fault but your own. So stop crying no fair. And make use of the opportunities that are available for everyone. And "gag" even more so for those that are considered needy, Which I believe the group in question is a part of.

And for Plywoody... I get ticked off whenever I hear about corruption, lying, or stealing at any level. Whether your a ceo of a major company, the Finance Officer of a local government, or a politician. Your no better than the hood (black, white, green, yellow, alien,..etc)on the street that robs you. As a matter of fact your worse because you have betrayed the public trust given to you. And if you bothered to check you would see that a mainstream paper reported it.

Re: Interesting

The main problem is that some people think they are "owed" something for nothing. I work hard at my job. At the end of the week I am "owed" a paycheck because I earned it.

Blacks saying that they are owed something now for slavery is just stupid.

Heres an idea for ya. Go out, get a job, get off welfare, and earn yourself a living, instead of living off the tax money that came from my hard earned paycheck!

Re: Interesting

Time for a rebuttal
CastawayRay:
First of all, I must honestly say that it was probably the manner your point was presented rather than what was said that I took offense to. I am just as guilty of a knee-jerk reaction. I just feel that the issue of race is compounded when BOTH sides respond in a manner such as "...NOT ENOUGH, GET OUT, GET OUT, GET THE "F" OUT OF THIS COUNTRY AND GO TO HELL BACK..." . This kind of gives me the impression that "if it ain't white, it ain't right. If I misread your post I sincerly apologize. If I did not misread your post, then what can I say. I like to think that this is still the land of opportunity, even if others are trying to take advantage of this land of opportunity, after all, I do see myself as a capitalist without the capital.

Second: Skinnywater, I would like to respond to your following quote by posting a qoute from my original post.
It was the blood of millions of White Americans that freed the slaves.
Reparations have been long since been, paid in full.
While I do agree that any thought of reparations are simply attempts by individuals to get what they have no claim to, all debts have been paid in blood by people of all race, color, and creed. Reacting in a racist manner that clearly shows no inteligble thought, merely perpetuates the problems of race in this country.
This goes for all sides.

Third goes to Plywoody and Spinner: Plywoody, Your statement
I cannot believe this is true either. It makes no sense. In order to get a refund of a 1/2 million, you would have to show you paid in at least that amount.
is my problem as well. I have seen TOO often that the media reports on information that is false.

Fourth: Oddjob
tlands, I dont know where your coming from and I feel for all the kids you are uh..teaching?..
All I Can say to your statement is I grade my students hard, work them even harder, and only have 3 out of 93 that are failing. Last year, had four students out of 150 fail. If you feel that you can do better, then please do so, Kids today deserve only the best!

Fifth: Castaway, sorry pal, but this one comes back to you for two reasons. Reason "A" is that I feel obligated to set the record straight and reason "B" is that I need too (LOL)
On January 1, 1863, Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation ended slavery in the entire country, and changed the character of the war"

January 1 1863, LONG BEFORE THE WAR ENDED

Get your facts straight, and try to "rectumfy" your anal-cranial inversion
The Emancipation Proclimation freed NO slaves. It allowed the border states to keep their slaves. It also stated that the only slaves that were freed were in the states that were rebelling from the Union. The problem is that the President of the United States does not now, nor in the past, have the authority to remove a persons property according to the Constitution.
What finally did free all slaves was the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.

It is my hope that this clears up any problems as I do honestly respect the opinions posted here, both about boats, and those that have nothing to so with boats. If it doesn't, there is nothing I can do except pay bribes and to that I refer you to my capitalist comment

Re: Interesting

A personal thought to racism.
It has endured since records have been kept, and
likely long before.
It will continue to endure, and is likely at a
high point in North America, not seen since the
second world war.
The North American Continent is a boiling pot of
growing racism, fueled more by the mixing of
races, then ever before. Brought by the very
people that are intermingled into this society.
We have endeavored to bring about a raceless
society, but the very people that we try to
bring in, are simply put some of the most racist
people on the planet, Yet we are quick to point
the finger of racism at the local folk, that have
worked and givin there lives creating a society
of tolerance. Just humble opinion.

Re: Interesting

then let me restate my case, I AM racist ...

regardless of the country of origin, not happy here? get out, get out etc, I dont care if you are white green or an aleun, DONT LIKE IT HERE, GET OUT, and PAY FOR IT YOURSELF

however, Im sure the funds could be raised in a timely manner

Abraham Lincoln raised the issue of slavery again in 1858 when he made a speech at Quincy, Illinois. Lincoln argued: "We have in this nation the element of domestic slavery. The Republican Party think it wrong - we think it is a moral, a social, and a political wrong. We think it is wrong not confining itself merely to the persons of the States where it exists, but that it is a wrong which in its tendency, to say the least, affects the existence of the whole nation. Because we think it wrong, we propose a course of policy that shall deal with it as a wrong. We deal with it as with any other wrong, insofar as we can prevent it growing any larger, and so deal with it that in the run of time there may be some promise of an end to it."

Hello?

HELLO???

Sound like a man that wanted slavery to be perpetuated?

there were MASS RIOTS to free the slaves, do a search on abolitionists.

Seriously, do you believe the drivel the Blacktivist mudslingers? "REVEREND" or not, they are two faced pandering greedy scum out to line their own pockets, via the perpetuation of strife and unrest and blatant RACISM, cut open old wounds, pour SALT in them then blame de white debbil on it all

address what is happening NOW, instead of speculating on something that happened 140 years ago - yanno, like the esteemed so called REVERENDS do, they probably dont know anything beyond what feeds their own self serving needs

Re: Interesting

by the way, Lincoln felt he had authority to free the slaves under the blanket of War Powers

War gives a President leverage, Lincoln was not a man to be trifled with

why blacks dont give homage to Lincoln as much as Martin Luther King is beyond me

Lincoln "had a dream" too

and Freedom rings throughout this land

the only slaves in this land are those that believe in the tripe that the blacktivists espouse, held in self perpetuating bondage by virtue of their sloth, laziness, and apathetic sense of self determination

ZERO EFFORT IN

ZERO OUTPUT OUT

Re: Interesting

plywoody you're funny.
:D

tlands, I'm glad you came back to the discussion.

I don't think that white people have a monopoly on racism and I don't think they have the greatest supplies of it anymore.
I think white people have made the greatest efforts to control and curtail racism.
Maybe wishful thinking here, but I believe it's true.

Change the subject? Howso?

This was a topic about an alleged simple fraud perpetrated.

Why all the outrage?

Unless it is, indeed, racially motivated.

Re: Interesting

Plywoody asks?
Change the subject? Howso?
Would you not call this diverting attention.
But more importantly, why is there not a similar outrage when someone like Kenny Boy Lay steals millions from investors, or when the big investment firms scam millions off mutual funds investors, or any number of other outrages that have been exposed recently that have been all too real? And where has the SEC been, and why has it taken a Attorney General from the state of New York, with his staff just a tiny fraction of the available staff at the SEC, to bring all this crap to light?
Then you make the statement.
This was a topic about an alleged simple fraud perpetrated. Why all the outrage?Unless it is, indeed, racially motivated.
You have got to be Kidding me.
The Paper said
IRS spokeswoman Michelle Lamishaw said the idea of filing reparations claims may stem from a 1993 Essence magazine editorial urging blacks to seek refunds of $43,206 per household.

Robert Foster said he increased the total tenfold to account for inflation.

So lets see here $43,206 X 10=$432,060
And you Plywoody call this simple fraud.

The Anger here while yes is being directed at a particular race. (duh, I think slavery is a black issue.) It's more about a group of people claiming they are owed something for an occurance that happened almost a 150 years ago. Neither you nor I is responsible for what our ancestors did. That's the Beauty of America. They stole $$ out of our pockets. Where do you think the Gov't got the money to pay the refund.

Plywood take the blinders off. Not everything is about race, or democrat v republican, or liberal v conservative. In this case it is about simple right or wrong, and where the H to people get off thinking they are owed something they have never earned.

Re: Interesting

Correct me if I am wrong, but a president can only make something law with an executive order. All other things have to go through the house. The president can lobby and make as many speaches as he/she wants.

At any rate, these blackivist as well as groups such as the KKK, need to be shot. They are not doing anything to help the HUMAN RACE. The human race, is the only race that is legit after all is said and done. We all belong to that race, regardless of the shade of our tans.

If someone is trying to fraud the government/people of the US, they should be made an example of. A very hard example. People are sacrificing things on their behalf to pay into programs like our welfare program, just to name one. These things should not be treated this way.

I just don't see how the human race is going to progress when no one can see the big picture, and live it.

And for those who say that the blackivist are not promoting racism. Take a look at alot of your adds on TV now. How is the white man protrayed? Not a very wanted image is it? Fat, lazy, can't fix a **** thing around the house. The wife has to call a professional or reads a self help book from the local hardware store, and does it herself. Seriously. Pay attention to the TV and other things. Hell, listen to some music. Like for instance the lyrics, "the girls say I'm pretty fly for a white guy".
