Re: Introduction - New owner 16' Lone Star Runabout
So I've gotten the boat into the barn to start doing some work on it, before pulling it in I decided to run the bilge pump........ and ran ...... and ran.... come to find out previous owner left it uncovered outside most of the summer. After finally getting it to point i felt safe getting in it. To provide a slightly safer work environment I was going to leave the bow down as I was going to be near the engine to offset the weight so that I didn't slam the lower unit and skeg into the concrete floor. After even more water meet me I decided that wasn't best idea. Got some concrete blocks and 2x4's and secured the back of the trailer and jacked the bow back up so it all drained towards the back.
Pulled the seats out as they are only clipped in place, shook my head at the car stereo and speakers they tried to hook up, botching up the wiring in process. get the old depth finder out that no longer worked, got the stereo and speakers out. I now need to rewire the lights as they wired the stereo and depth finder into the lines for the lights. When they made the new connections they used electrical tape and nothing else to seal the connections. Managed to get the wiring back under control, next step is going to be pulling out the old indoor/outdoor carpeting that they put in that is holding a ton of water still. Once my mechanic gets there to check the engine over I'll update more.
Am I still enjoying the boat..... as the kool-aid man would say OHHH YEA

The pile o' "stuff" from previous owner
