I need to replace the 12 V fan on my inverter. I have a 15 year old heart interface. I can find thousands of the fans on ebay etc. same id numbers, brand, volts correct size etc. The only difference is the wires. Mine has a black and red. Everyone I have found has 3 wires. Some black, red, blue. some black, red, Tan. and some black red green.

Does anyone know if I can use 2 out of 3?

Thanks Lyle

Re: Inverter Fan

The third wire is very likely for a temperature probe that turns the fan on and off at a specific temperature. If you have any old computers laying about, they have fans in them as well. Some have the third wire some don't. You don't need the third wire.

Re: Inverter Fan

Great thanks for the info. Found bunches of 3 wire on the net.
