Quote from TX:

We sent unprepared and under numbered troops into harms way and lead by a President that had no concept of the reality of war. [/QB][/quote]

Show me a war that we did not send unprepared and out numbered troops!!!

Case in point: Civil War, 1st World War,World War 2, Korea, Vietmam, Desert Storm and today, Iraq!!!!

No 18 year old could rationalize the reality of war, unless maybe a ghetto fighter from the Bronx, Harlem or L.A.!!!

So Tx, please tell me which war we were prepared for!!!! ;)

From a Foreign point of view I find it very strange that you can't question decisions made by your president without being called unpatriotic. You have hindsight now, you know decisions were made on incorrect information so maybe people got things wrong not because they were stupid or bad people but human.

Can you tell me the last time a country was conquered, then rebuilt with less than 3000 lives lost? I call that flipping amazing
I take it you mean 3000 American deaths, first time round it was amazing second time round after years of sanctions, no airforce and the experience of the first time it was not so amazing. Not having a plan on how to deal with Iraq afterwards was quite amazing. Not listening to Colin Powell was amazing

Re: Iraq Veterans

Look what you have gone and stirred up txswinner. You should just fall among the ranks and be happy with what you have and stop speaking your mind. Where exactly do you think you are...America?

Veterans are no different that the civilian public, the war is going poorly as it was wrong to invade, we sent unprepared and under numbered troops into harms way and lead by a President that had no concept of the reality of war.
If you are not a yes man, then be quiet!!! You can't be a "cronie" when you go speaking your mind all the time.

I guess the one difference between America and Iraq is that here, you are only called names such as whinner.

txs, you know I'm with you on this. Why can't the 35% in support of W realize they are the minority. Maybe not on iboats, but more importantly, in America. I don't hear many people in important positions standing up along side W and his ideas. The good people he had, such as Colin Powell, have long deserted him. I think the rep office holders understand the following quote posted by techno.

Closed Mouths, gather no feet. Ayuh
Techno, this is probably the best quote I have seen in a while - excellent. May I use it sometime?

Chris Meyers,

I'm with you. If you say what's on your mind, you're called atheist, unpatriotic, etc. as well as other names you can find written above.

Don't worry, you can and I can. Non-issue. Blown up by Hillary her ownself. Some feel it is unpatriotic to criticize our President during wartime. I don't think he feels that way though.

I agree . . . I wish Hillary and her band of buddies would admit that. I think it is unpatriotic to pretend that your own position was different once you have the benefit of hindsight . . . ;) This one is particularly funny. If I knew that Google was gonna quadruple in six months, I would have bought some, if I knew that the market was gonna tank I would have sold sooner . . . same thing with Sen. Feinstein saying that she would not have voted to go to war if she knew what she knew now. That is the most useless statement I can imagine. You didn't know, so let's just go with what you said then, OK?

Re: Iraq Veterans

On questions of the propriety of war, an opinion should not be given more weight solely on the basis of military experience. Having served in a war does not make one an expert on whether it was justified; that's a political question, not a military one.

I consider military experience as a plus in a candidate, whether for a job or a political office, because of the characteristics gain from the experience. Things like self-discipline, teamwork, etc.; that's just my own personal observation.

Flyrod: Show me a war that we did not send unprepared and out numbered troops!!!

Haut Medoc: Panama
and Grenada
