The family Four Winns with a Cobra 5.8l V8 I/O tops out at around 53. And it has a windshield. I can't imagine going past 50 without a windshield, haha. 50 is pretty darn fast though for a boat.

Great boat..forerunner of the APBA offshore tunnel hulls, built back when more 'glass was better, solid boat.but 50MPH with a 115 is dam respectable, if you keep the 115 , and put it on a mono hull bass boat (stratos-tracker-nitro) type hull...yea you'll get more speed.keep in mind that Merc is one heavy motor,so whatever you hang it on..make sure the transom is in good shape.
