Is connection rod on '86 Johnson reversible?

Just a quick question. I put new pistons and loose needle bearings on my connecting rods today. I marked the connecting rods and caps so I could align them properly when I reassemble the motor. The problem is that after I was done, I noticed the bottom connecting rod is flipped 180 degrees or upside down. I don't think it's a problem because the manual says "either side faces up." I just want to be sure that this is ok before I put it all back together. As long as the rod cap aligns as I have it marked, it should be good to go, right? Thanks. Tink

Tink....is there an oil hole for the wrist pin bearing? If there is, the hole should point up...towards the flywheel. This lets the needles get oil. If there isn't any hole, you should be OK.

tink Probably need a little more info on your motor, but if you are using the factory manual,go with it.Aftermarket manual, beware. They tend to be too generic.

DHP
