Does he want to come out of retirement AGAIN, or doesn't he? His agent doesn't even seem to have a clue! He said he wanted released from the Jet's so he could retire as a Packer. Now he wants to come back as a Viking??????? I think he has taken too many head shots.

It is a shame that someone who had such a brilliant career can not fade into the sunset with grace and glory. I hate seeing this happen to him. I am not a Favre fan, and not a Packer's fan, but I sure did appreciate how he plays the game! Truly a great quarterback, not because of his outstanding skills, but because of his heart, his desire, and his determination to make something happen. It seems that the things that made him great are the things that are tripping him up now.

Please, Mr. Favre, let it go and be willing to basque in your glory days of old. Don't be remembered as the QB that couldn't make up his mind.

Agree 100%
It's time to stay retired.

I wish I had his money and ability....... he should probably should take both his ability and money and go bask in the sun somewhere other than a sportsfield.....like a beach.

If he does come back..... I think I will buy some medical stock because plenty of injections will be required.

He's giving Mark Martin a run for his money, huh?

Re: Is Favre getting senile????

I've never been a Packer's fan but have always been a Favre fan. This is so, because he was always a standout as a QB, and seemed to be a squared away guy in other respects.

To me, what is going on now is about a guy who just can't let go. To anyone outside of the issue, it is clearly time for him to retire, but Favre can't seem to see that. His poor wife must be going nuts over this by now, because he is clearly in an unsettled state and she is probably hearing about it all day long, every day.

What I would love to see Favre do, is to start some sort of a program that is about football, but is outside of the NFL. He may have no interest in becoming a sportscaster, so why not start a kids football training camp, or something like that. Heck, it could be nationwide - "Favre Football Clinics For Neighborhood Kids," or something similar.

I think a better analogy would be to Sugar Ray Leonard, or hell, pick a boxer. How many times do those guys "retire"?

Favre is still a top 10 qb if his arm is right. But he didn't have surgery on that torn bicep he got last year, so how good is his chicken wing now?

If he can play, he's fun to watch, but what is not fun to watch is all this, "I'm done"...er, "I'm not done"....dramaqueenatics he has done for about 5 years now. Play or don't play, but stop re-re-re-retiring, because it's just "tiring" now.

Like Mark Martin, Brett probably has a game or two left in him. Over an entire season, Brett gets tired and it shows on the field. He is very capable of a good game now and then, but he's even more capable of bad decisions and trying to be the hero too often resulting in game-costing turnovers. Saw it way too often with the Jets. I hope he takes the gold watch before his reputation turns to mud. He deserves to be looked back upon with respect for many excellent seasons.

All of the true greats hang on too long. It's part of there mind set.
Baseball - Babe Ruth
Basketball - Michael Jordon
Hockey - Wayne Gretsky ??? (he didn't embarrass himself like the others IMO)
Football - Favre

None of these players ending years diminished from there legacy!!

Based on this I hope that Favre does come back because watching a legend play is so much more special to me than watching some flash in the pan who is having a good year. After he is gone we will never get to see him again.

P.S. I am a life long Bears fan, so I have no reason to show Favre (still a packer in our hearts and minds) any favoritism. Come to think of it if he goes to Minnesota it's bad news for the bears

Re: Is Favre getting senile????

Hey, if someone wanted to pay me $7 mill to throw a football around, I'd probably let them.

And whose to say...maybe he likes to do it regardless of whether he is physically capable of doing it at his best. If someone wants to pay him to do it, as they think fans will buy tickets and he wants to do it, why the heck should what anyone else thinks matter a whit?

I say go for it Brett. ESPN and sports talk radio will simply have to at some point get over it.

Everyone has a different perspective. As a season ticket holder, I want to see my team do what's best to get me to the superbowl. That doesn't mean paying to see a legend make desparate 4th qtr throws to the other team. As an NFL watcher, I'd love to see Brett on the field to catch what he has left in the tank (again, as long as it is not on the team I support). I also would imagine there are alot of mixed feelings from GreenBay fans.

The Brett-ster has definitely worn out his welcome around a lot of campfires and it's not hard to understand why. I have several friends in the Green Bay area and they were sick of his drama before he signed with the Jets. For myself I kinda hope he signs with the Vikes, to me he's almost as much fun to watch as Barry Sanders was.
He's surely past his prime but still better than most QB's out there, and he plays the gambler everytime. With himjust like Sanders every play might be the big one!

As a Packer season ticket holder, and someone who knows many of the current and retired players, we all feel he is has gone too far. His number now will not be retired and he has lost a lot of hometown fans. He needs the limelight and I believe this is because he has no good buddies anymore. His dad, Deanna's dad, his bro in law, and others have died. He has really no one to come over on sunday for a bbq and watch the games, sooooo he must be in them. It is sad to see. I wish him well but he has tarnished his image forever here. He was to have his own room in the Packer hall of fame, but no more. It is a shame.
