My tow rig has the air suspension and although handy, I don't trust its longevity. Even overnight when vacationing, I'll flip the trailer jack down and relieve the stress. It takes all of 30 seconds and whether or not there is any benefit, ignorance is bliss.

Only thing Id be worried about would be theft. It may be convenient to leave it on the hitch, but what a bonus for a thief!
