Is it safe to put additives in Trim/Tilt fluid?

I have an old crossflow 71 125 that will not stay put when tilted on the trailer for travel or when underway on the water, it will hold its own weight tilted all day though. Can I add one of those aftermarket reconditioning products without risking the unit. Also do they work as stated ie cleans internals, fixes seals, stops leaks etc. Anyone know an more targeted fix? there are no leaks at all it just goes down. Thanks even125

I'm not gonna say ya or nay but I have mixed break fluid with power steering (atf) fluid before and stopped the power steering pump seals from leaking.

c/6

Hooty

Very good I will file that info away thanks for that. So anyone know if they would trust an additive in their T/T?
