I just got a 1985 century with a mercruiser 3.7. I believe it's a alpha one. How do I find out for sure? I'd like to order a water impeller kit. Thanks

It the drive is held together by nuts ,its Alpha
If the drive has 2 nuts and bolts on each side its a Alpha GEN II

I have another question. On each side of out drive there are to electronically controlled "things" what are they and what do they do? The wires going to them are broke

I believe it's the trim sender. Which would be why my gauges for the trim do not work . can't upload pic

Ones the trim limit switch, the other is the sender for the trim gauge

Ok well they are both broke. Could that be why they wired a aftermarket switch? The factory guage and switch so not work
