Was going to try to change oil and put on new oil filter this week end on my new re-built 357 Alpha 4V. I purchased a motor operated transfer pump with tube that extends into dipstick...I ran engine for about 10-12 minutes to thin out oil. Tube inserted into dipstick housing bottomed out and I started to transfer...only removed about 1 qt of oil and then pump acted like the "pan" was empty...thought this strange...re-checked and found the dipstick indicated it had oil (actually read add oil as I had transferred some oil). I checked all of the fittings and all of the connections were tight on pump, shouldn't have been sucking air but that is what acted like, I even adjusted the height of the tube, thinking I clogged it on the bottom of the pan...but it still didn't extract oil
Does this make sense to anyone..does the dipstick assembly turn after it hits the pan??
Thx
