My low speed adjustment knob (orange plastic) cracked. Is there an alternative part from another motor that is more robust that will function as a replacment? I can find these NOS, but they are $25!! I can't imagine a new one is going to hold up that much better than the old one after a couple of years of temperature exposure from freezing to 110F. Appreciate any help other than "use a pair of pliers"...I do want it to look like it could have been factory issue. Heck...I might even paint it orange.

Call Tim's outboard for a good/used knob. 218-682-2331, or go to salvage yards under 'top secret files' in this forum for more places to try.

I bought one from Dan Gano for $6.50 (in April 2011).

He's a class act, always a pleasure to deal with!

Thanks Kbait...got a brand new one coming from Tim's at much better price than what I found elsewhere. When in doubt...check the sticky. Roger...roger.
