Not that you need to worry about unless you pop off the flywheel. Timing is provided via a cam that sits on the driveshaft under the flywheel. It is marked with a small section that says "top". When the points' cam follower reaches the part of the cam marked "top" you set the points to .020". Set both sets of points this way.

You also need to sync the carb with the magneto. When the cam follower that rides on the brass plate on the front of the mag hits the two raised lines on the plate the throttle plate should just start to rise.

That's it. You are now timed.

Wbeaton Said It Just Like It Is. A Wise Man. A Manual Should Tell You How To Sync.

If timing is off, it is usually a sheared flywheel key.

I dont know if the timing is off or not it runs a little rough so I thought there might be a timing issue

the motor has a fixed timing. i would try to leave it alone as much as possible.

make sure u torque ur flywheel down so u wont get a sheered key. remember the proper spec for the flywheel

Rough running is one of four things: low compression, weak spark, gummed up carb, or bad/old fuel.

What have you checked?

Compression was at 95 psi in both, spark i just redid the points and I seem to have good spark again and the carbs were cleaned and a kit put in and fuel there is a brand new tank and new fuel but mixture might be off
