Is this a problem?(throttle linkage)

If you look at the gray connector that goes over the ball joint it has a crack the other one has a crack in middle too. Is this supposed to be this way so there is some give or do i need to replace. I really do not want to get stuck out on the lake and this part is fairly inexpensive.

If you are talking about the opening at the ball, this is normal. It allows the plastic to flex and snap over the ball. They do not need replacement.

These fittings DO crack on the solid shank from the nut up to the opening, especially if the nut is tightened too much. They are still serviceable when cracked this way but should be replaced.
