Is this a Scam or What!

One of our stores is in process of a remodel. Half the store is sectioned off with plastic. I was working on a drink system that is being installed. On the other side of the plastic was several women and about 12 kids from newborn to 5 years old. Apparently they have several in school as well.

I was listening to them by no choice, but wished I didn't because it has really upset me. Well, here is what I heard.

The women were talking about how they had managed to have a "no work" lifestyle via child support. It turns out that they had from 5 to 7 children each. Each child has a different father that pays support. Then to top it all off, they have a medical card, food stamps, and a nice assistance check. One woman even bragged about denying the fathers visitation. The older one of the bunch said that when her youngest is 12, she is going to start college so that she can get a good job for when the support stops when he turns 18. When they loaded up their kids in their vehicles, I noticed that each one was driving nice new model vans.

I think it is a scam and totally wrong using children for an income. At my age with my kids out of the house, I still say there needs to be a set fee for child support. Welfare only allows so much per child, and so child support should be based off that figure. It would be up to the father if he wanted to contribute more for his childrens needs.

I just wonder how many other women out there that is doing the same thing?

If the dad doesnt pay, welfare will. That is a major welfare scam as well. Once knew a girl that had 4 kids by different, nopaying fathers. She didnt do too badly off the Government.

In Ohio now, if the father doesn't pay, he gets to stay fer awhile in the iron bar motel. So now when that happens, she gets her check (compliments of the tax payer) and he gets his square meals and a roof over his head, also compliments of the taxpayer.

Then another point is this, if the father gets locked up for lack of support, then how is he going to make money to pay the support? Just plan ole crazy.

It's a shame but it happens all the time, nothing to do with child suport thats a bonus, its all from the goverment, this is one subject that pisses me off more than anything, alot of this women get knocked up draw there welfare checks there food stamp checks and there housing checks, there medical checks, there schooling checks which they only have to enroll and go a couple times a semester for, there gas checks for going to school, there kids free lunch program, there maintence on vehicle check, and so on and on.its how they work the system and its been carried on from generatio to generation.Im going to go back in time here and tell you when i was 16 i could'nt play sports because i had to work,Dad gave me the option of working on the farm or finding a job, well i milked cows and cut wood and all the other chores growing up ,so i said i would get a job,i was lucky dad gave me an old clunker to drive and i got a job as a bag boy,at the first of the month it amazed me to see the women come in and buy groceries like 2or 3 buggies full, not them little buggies but the big ones, and pay for it all with foodstamps, then i would bag all this stuff up in paper not plastic there was no such thing, and roll this buggys out to there cadilacs and other nice vehicles,i would sit there and wonder what the h#ll.NON TIPPERS TOO.now this was 20 years ago, just imagine now.And all here is take from the rich and give to the poor bullsh#t.Im done i've said my little 2 cents worth, wear it out.

Talk about working the system. Now the women in the situation you are talking about don't name the father when a baby is born, so the baby gets the mothers maiden name. When asked to explain why I was told, "Of course we know who the father is, but if we don't name them we get our full check from HRS and when their daddy comes around he slips us some on the side. That way we get more money.

Many of the ones who live in subsidized housing actually get paid to live there. What I mean is the manager has a formula to apply their "income" to and then certain things are subtracted from the answer. In many cases this results in a negative number which equals the amount they will be paid to live there. I know this for a fact as I used to manage some of these type apartments.

IT WAS A REAL EDUCATION.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention, if they are on "welfare", they get free medical.

Have a nice day.

They dont name the father so the system cant go after him. That way he can get a job (I know  ) without having his check garnished or causing him legal problems from not paying his share of child support.

SS
Take everything these guys said multiply it.

I know a guy who took his grand daughter away from his daughter for good reasons when she was two.

The wellfare stays with the kid.

He makes $70,000 + a year but wellfare pays for all his grand daughters medical, Day Care, and when she started school Lunches and a portion of her school supplies!

Her mother is 32 and has never been off wellfare to this day.

On the Upside I have met at least a couple dozen women over the years who found themselves on wellfare and used the system to get trained and over the rough times and out of the system.

For them Im glad there was a safety net that worked and wasnt abused.

I'll shutup now :)

Re: Is this a Scam or What!

I'm not sure what this proves exactly, other than there are some willing to scam the system.

There are some that do it on a grand scale, like the Enron execs, and some do it on somewhat smaller scale.

Hardly a revelation.

Life is not fair. I recall paying child support, having trouble making ends meet, and my ex and her lawyer boyfriend were taking extended vacations in Hawaii.

So it goes. If you let it get to you, it will consume you. Sure work on fixing loopholes in the system, I'm all for it. But life ain't always fair, and it isn't going to be fair anytime soon. So what?

The really sad part is that it is a legal scam. :(

it may be 'wrong', but if the guy kept his willy in his pants in the first place, or at least wrapped it before inserting, the issue would not be an issue.
