I went to the local marine store to pick up a new filter. I had a tempo maxflo filter on my boat. IT had the after market setup when I got my boat. They didn't have that filter. THe guy sold me a quicksilver 35-802893Q. Anyone know if this filter is ok for a motor that uses 50:1 mix? I read in one of the pages on the net "gas only". I don't wanna hurt my boat engine if I put this guy on and he starts to separate the oil from the fuel.
Or should I just go to another store and pick up another tempo. I can't use the OMC filters cause of the size of the fitting on the holder. It's after market. Not omc.

You will be fine. It is designed for outboard use. If you are not in big hurry you could get a replacement element for your tempo on the net.

Did it screw on and not leak ?

Does it say fuel/water seperator ?

It is a Mercury Part and is not considered "after market".

Quicksilver is made by Mercury,is the same as Mercury.

DHP
