i been told my engine is a 1981 does anyone know if this is correct
115hp mercury blueband
s/n 06093940

That's a 1982 model....

[colour=blue]I think you may be the first year of the "prop rated" 115hp, if so: that means your engine is like the 1981 140 hp, (I have a 1981 115 which is like the 1982 90 hp). I'm not positive about this but my manuals show the horse power changes, and the BIG GUNS here on iboats can confirm what I would consider GOOD NEWS! JR[/colour]
