Looking at another engine for my pontoon.

Mercury 850 s/n 4294375, don't see any letters after s/n on the engine block, thinking it's a 1975 model.

Measuring from the bottom of the engine cowl to center line of prop shaft is 28 inches.

Anyone know the weight of this engine?

Thanks, Tom

You need to measure from the top of the transom mount, to the anti-vent plate. If it is 20" it is a long, 15" is a short. Odds say that it is a longshaft.

Thanks for the prompt replies, I'll measure it again, at the correct place.
