The exposed wire is just between the wire cover and the terminal, about an 1/8th of an inch, just wrapped it with electrical tape and it should be fine, but ill check it before i go out from now on. It is not just a wire laying around as I can see how I wrote that it may have come across that way.

Just wanted to make sure.

I once bought an old car off of a kid and after I drove it home I found a wire connected to the positive battery terminal laying on top of the gas tank!
