Re: Is this part normal looking?

Update: just got done being towed to the ramp by my buddy... :( good news is I discovered the problem. Ran boat with trim way up so it lightened the back pressure and was able to troll. Pulled bottom plug wire, motor died. Pulled plug in middle. Died. Pull top plug...nothing...keeps trollin along. Wire connectin for coil to powerpack disconnected, I connect it and the motor soared to life. Later on I bumped some trash in the water. Cut motor and trimedup...nothing...go to trim down...stuck...tried an hourto trim down.....dead in thw water with a perfectly good running motor -__- get it home and show my buddy hhow it was stuck...trims right down........ ahhhhhhh

Re: Is this part normal looking?

For anyone experiencing similar symptoms:

On the water hose- The motor ran smoothly in neutral no coughing or sputtering, would go into gear and rev w/ no problems, and showed no signs of a problem.

When placed in the river - The motor was producing an irratic light-moderate cough every 10-30 seconds, was very difficult to get into gear without stalling, and did not run smoothly in neutral.

This was confusing but the fact was it was running on 2 cylinders which wasn't a problem until it met back-pressure on the exhaust in the water, then the cylinder that wasn't firing was dragging inside and compressing fuel but not igniting it. Lesson learned here for me is first pull every plug and listen for changes, if there is no change then that cylinder is the culprit. Its a quick and easy test, something i should have done right away. Thanks guys.
