when i went to go pick up my boat from the dealer, i was talking to a sales rep there about the 2-stroke mercs and he told me that after the 2005 model year, they(merc and possibly other manufacturers) will no longer be manufacturing higher h.p 2-stroke carburated outboards such as my 150 merc XR6 or the 200 h.p merc classic. he said they will keep the smaller h.p 2-stroke carb engines around for a little bit longer, but as for the larger h.p carbed outboards, their days seem to be over now i guess...

I don't know for sure, but it makes sense.<br /><br />The new EPA regs for 2006 make it nearly impossible to make a carbed 2 stroke that passes.
