We live on a small lake where 25hp is the max and are having trouble finding used pontoons that fit the bill. Any leads would be great. Don't mind to travel out of town as long as trailer included.

Thanks!

there are not many 16 foot toons built, you might find a 20' that you could put a 25 hp on.

Check this link out... We have a builder down here in Florida that makes a 14 footer with a 25 hp kicker. You can get them in gas or electric.

Might make a trip to Florida worth your effort if you're out of state.

Re: ISO 25hp Pontoon

Is there a length limit? If not I wouldn't be concerned as a 25 will push a 24 easier and faster than a short boat.

I changed an 88 Evinrude from a 28 footer to an 18 footer and lost 6 mph. Boats need to float high in the water to get best performance.

As the others have said, on a small lake where you don't have far to travel a 25hp engine works great for just about any length pontoon. My 20ft with a wore out 28spl and loaded to capacity would still push 10 mph. The only downside to a 25hp on a large pontoon is the small prop size makes changing direction from forward to reverse a chore, it takes awhile to prop to get enough thrust to get you moving.
