What would cause a problem when I start the motor after a few seconds it stops and if i do get it going I put it in gear and it stops. Would this mean that the fuel filters might be clogged causing not enough gas to pass thru. I was just using the motor 2 weeks ago and it was running fine. I changed to another gas tank used for my kicker motor in case their might be water in the tank no change. Possibly a bad fuel pump. Any help would be great thanks.

Hi,

If there was water in you main tank you now have water in your carbs.
You will have to clean them. Just changing tanks will now solve that problem.
If you tank is movable tilt it so the the fill cap is o the low side. Then siphon out some gas from the low spot into a jar of can. Look for water in the container.
If you see some you will have to clean your carbs. If none then check your plugs for spark and let us know what you find. HP and year would help too.
