Hey everyone, seems to be some useful knowledge here (except all of the jokes) just kidding, SBN and jgregory have been helping me kill tons of time at work thanks! Anyway, I have a 2000 isuzu rodeo and the fuel guague only reads full with a full tank, then goes straight to empty. Someone told me this is the sending unit, anyone know what this should cost to replace, and is it something I can do in the garage, I don't even know where the sending unit is. Thanks guys, keep the funnies coming!

I don't know how much it would cost, but I do know that the fuel gauge sender is inside the gas tank.

You could do it yourself if you are handy, but it involves lowering the gas tank to access the sender!

If you were to do it yourself, you could probably do it for under $100.

Hope that helps a little.

Re: isuzu rodeo fuel gauge

If you figure out how to fix, or how much it would cost to fix, let me know. I am tired of doing the math to figure out when to fill up. By the way, I can go exactly 299 miles on a tank. Found out the hard way. :D

I don't have a 2000 model but I do have an Isuzu Rodeo.
My gauge gave up like yours and I took the sender out only to discover it was an earth wire which was repaired within 10 minutes!
It may be the same problem?
Tank drain is easy through the drain hole (gave me a chance to flush the #$%$ out of the trank), as I thought the float had a hole in it.
Cost - nothing!
Pride - excellent!
Wife - very happy!
More money for fishing!!
Ross
