Do to are cats, we didnt put the tree up till last night, because the one evil one thinks the bulbs are cat toys. Well the first bulb was just grabbed from the tree, rolled out of the living room through the kitchen and fired under the stove.

That's funny , Here's what you do. Get a spray bottle and fill it with water. When they go near the tree give them a spray that should cure them of that. Cats hate water !!.

Did that last year, wrecked some wrapping on gifts and almost shorted out the lights, "damn cat", cant put her outside or the coyotes would get her and I would be in the dog house.

I woke up at 3 in the morning to a crash found the tree on it's side and the cat on the coffee table (I think she was snickering)

Our cats think we put the tree up for them, they already have their space to lay under the tree, wife bought unbreakable balls and hung on the tree yesterday, at least one was on the floor this AM when I got up to go to work.

i have trained all my animals with the water bottle. works great on dogs also.

our last cat was a big tom himalayan. only thing he would mess with was the lower bulbs. our trees looked funny with no bulbs on the last 8 inches of tree or so but at least he never played lumberjack on it.

But I'm not laughing real hard. We put up our first tree in
3yrs. saturday since someone dumped two kittens out here
in the country which now live in our house. We also have
a two yr. old pup but he is afraid of it!

While decorating every time I came across a bird ornament
I went nope, back in the box.

So far so good except this morning one cat was laying right
underneath it.

This could be a really hilarious thread as the days go by....

First year we had our current cat (3 years ago) we got up one morning to find the cat half way up the tree and 2 menacing eyes glinting out at us. Took half the decorations down and a lot of the lights as the cat jumped out of the tree to escape.
Water spray treatment after that and the cat is now well behaved !!

We had to use a different type of tinsel this year, the fuzzy stuff always gets shredded by the three cats. Plastic ornaments now too. Daily water check since three cats, three dogs all think its a water bowl.

Cats are bad enough, but imagine having a 105lb German Shephard that thinks the ornaments remind her of her tennis balls! She pulled the entire tree down about 15 mins. after the wife and kids got it up!

this one is getting hilarious. I'm not sure why but my two knuckleheads don't even look at the tree.

this weekend could be fun though, my son is coming home for the weekend and bringing his kitten. she likes to hide in the tree at his house. if she does it here i'm sure the dogs will find her and figure out that the tree can be brought down. LOL

My aunt had several cats, and when thay got wild, she'd pull out a container of honey or condensed milk, and smear a dab of the thick stuff on each cat... they'b be licking themselves for hours!
