It started and ran sweet today!!

Tonight after work i tried to start my 88 Mercury 115 I tilted it all the way down. and pumped the bulb and no gas came out the carbs!! Soo i tried to start it and she fired right up!!! One thing i did notice is that it seems to be loud!! Are these motors real loud?

Well, my 175 is loud as hell, until you put it in the water... like all other outboards. I guess its like a straight pipe on a car, its really loud, until you put a muffler on it, the water is the muffler... Is that what you were talking about?

Yeah I had a V6 before and it ddint seem that loud!!! Just wondering if others 115's are loud!!

Wilson, it sounds (sic) like your hearing has improved. That inline six should be just a bit quieter than a V6, I would think. A lot depends on the idle speed and which way the wind is blowing.

My 89 XR4 150 black max is loud as heck with muffs on, but nice when in the water.
