The other day I was driving the wifes car. A week or four ago my kids stepped on the front license plate while climbing on the car breaking the plastic holder off of the car. So I did what any respectable redneck would do and put the license plate in the front window. This is illegal in this state.

I forgot all about it until Sunday. A friendly state patrol officer reminded me. I knew what was up as soon as he turned around. This offense for a first time always recieves a "fix it ticket" or a repair order. So now I have 10 days to get my plate mounted correctly and find an officer to sign the warning declaring I have the problem fixed.

Of course the trooper and I work together so I will never hear the end of it.

Thays too bad DD.....my uncle is a retired San Jose California Police officer and he used to give verbal wanrning's and tell them to get it fixed asap. He would metion that other officers might not be as nice....they always listen to him for some reason....

I've had the plate on my Jeep in the front window for about 2 years now. Even got pulled over once and nobody said a word about it. I woulda duct taped it to the bumper but I didn't have a roll of tape at the time... :D

The troopers here have to write warnings, not verbal warnings because they have a quota to meet. Not a quota anymore I guess, a productivity report.

I think when I get it fixed I will sign it myself and send it in. See if the captain notices.
