ok my ignition has deamons I put my boat in for the first time today and it idled fine (I think, never heard one up close except this one) putted out of no wake zone, started to hear unevenness in the motor above 1000rpm, got out of no wake and gave it throttle, sputsputsput and it dies. It starts up again just fine, but then wont go above 2200rpm barely planing. in neutral it will rev up okay (again I think) when it is going as fast as it can (in gear and moving) the motor sometimes surges.
I have gone through the carbs well and am fairly certain it is not a fuel issue. my lines are new and the bulb is always hard. the tank was removed and cleaned out, filters good, vent okay.
I am about to take it to a mech on tues to have the ignition analized since I dont have the proper test stuff. I have gone ahead and tried the switching of switch boxes with the wierdest results, never being the same (positive of proper wire placement), can the switch boxes be intermitently working when they are going bad? or the trigger/stator?
