So the local boat store doesn't have any way to get an impeller for my 1985 Bayliner with the Force 125 engine. I'm not sure where to get one either, anyone have any good websites I can order them off of? Also another questions, How do I go about getting to the impeller? I know it's in the lower unit, but I have no clue how to get access to that area... thanks!!

In fact, I can't find any part number for an impeller on this website or any others... is there such thing of a boat with no impeller? Or is it called something else? It's a 1985 Force 125 motor. Thanks.

Here you go, www.maxrules.com a great site to get parts for your motor.

http://www.maxrules.com/fixforcecool.html

Scroll down, impeller part number 3065, $16.75.

To access the waterpump, you have to remove the lower unit.
It is much too involved with many detailed disassembly/re-assembly steps, to be covered completely and accurately here.
We'll be glad to help you with any specific steps along the way that may give you trouble, but there is no way it can all be covered here. This is where a repair manual comes in.

You should be able to access one at a library in most cities, or tech schools, etc.
Or you can purchase a generic Force manual here in iboats mall.
Here is the manual I prefer, if you can't find a factory manual: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4535780428&category=26453 Or you can buy a factory model specific manual on ebay. I don't see any factory manuals on ebay right now, but they show up on there every week or two.

Make sure you disconnect the battery before you start working on the motor, better safe than chopped up by a motor that starts up accidentally while you are working on it.

Re: Item purchase?

523065-1 is the original part number. When Merc bought Force, some of the part numbers were the same for different parts. So most Force parts have an F in front now and an impeller has a 47- prefix. So the part number should be 47-F523065-1. It may be superceded with a new number. ANY Merc dealer WILL be able to help ... unless they just don't want to. In fact ANY DEALER AT ALL can get aftermarket impellers. I don't understand why your dealer was unable to help. Sounds to me more like they were UNWILLING to help.

There are two major aftermarket companies that do mostly marine stuff, Aqua Pro and Sierra. The link Roscoe provided shows both. The 3065 AP is the same as an 18-3559 Sierra. Like I said, ANY DEALER can get these. You can too. You can even get one from NAPA (the Sierra).
