Reminds me of when I was taking driver's education. Red means
"STOP", Yellow means "Stop unless you are at or beyond the point of no return." and Green means "Proceed
IF it is safe to do so."<br /><br />The point of no return was once explained to me by a police officer. In his opinion, if the (properly timed) light turns red before you clear the other side of the intersection, then you could have stopped.<br /><br />And ZmOz, (humorously intended) you are very astute, and have an uncanny ability to state the obvious. But seriously I am sure you are writing from experience. Here in my corner of the world we have
RED light runners at nearly every light, regardless of their location. I have sat behind Sheriff's cars at a light when it turned green, and a car on the cross street ran the light. And the Sheriff's Deputy turned the other way and let the red light runner go on their way to kill another day. I wish we had cameras around my town. I would gladly embrace the enforcement. I would not need to fear being caught myself. Now the photo radar vans, then I might have a problem.
