Howdy,

I have a 110hp Johnson that sat for 4 years and I have resurected it. I have changed the plugs. It used to pull skiers in it's prime but now takes some time getting them out of the water. Even without a skier the initial "off the line" power is sluggish. How can I get this motor to pull harder, faster? I have tried removing all weight from the boat and It really scoots at full throttle after planed out.

If all you did was replace the plugs, it's probably not enough after sitting for 4 years.

Is this engine on the same boat it used to be on, is it running the same prop it used to run?

I would initially start off with a carb rebuild, just so you know everything is nice and clean. Also wouldn't be a bad idea to put a new water pump and t-stats in it.

After all of that, you may have to play woth the set up on the boat and the prop to get it to perform the way you want.

If it has been sitting outside for 4 years, check the foam in the hull, it may be full of water and you're lugging around a few hundred pounds of extra weight.

The foam in the hull could honestly be the case. What do I do to dry that out?
