Re: jack crank handle bushing broken

I haven't tried it yet but I was planning on replacing a broken one of mine by putting some rubber hose for a grip on some appropriate sized brass tubing and holding it on by drilling the crank and putting a cotter pin through it. With a fender washer between the tubing and the pin. Might not be the perfect way to do it, but it should work. I think...

$23 with shipping is a bit steep, especially since you can buy a complete jack from harorfreight for about $20 when they are on sale. The cotter pin, tubing, washer idea does work.

it's my fault, but i think we're not talking about the same thing. i'm talking about the bushing that's half inside and half outside the jack. the one that holds the pinion gear in place on the inside, and the crank spins through. i was not referring to the handle "grip", sorry for being unclear.
