This board is great. I read alot and do not post much. But I have a problem with my jackplate. (boat is a 200 Merc EFI on a 21 ft bay boat)

The hydo jack plate quit working a while ago and lucking it was in a decent position. I left it alone for a year and now have the time to fool with it. It is a Detwiler plate with the old Exact Dial system for adjustment. It has a circuit board and all sort of wires. I believe after reading a bunch that the exact dial board and other related stuff is the root of the problem.

Question is can I just wire a simple toggle switch to the pump motor and operate it just like a tilt/trim? And if so can any of you give me a link to a wiring diagram and some parts.

Thanks -Dave

Check the pump motor and see how many wires come out of it. How many amps does the motor use? You might need a solenoid ot two.

You should be able to rig it like a tnt unit.

A couple of relays, a switch, some wire.

Might want to buy a wiring harness and relays from Mercury to save you the hassle and make it look nice.

I'd buy a waterproof switch from them too. The kind the use for a remote tnt switch.

You can buy a wiring harness from Mercury, part # 84-819514A7 $40

And 2 relays at $12 each. part # 87-819509T
