JB is a legacy here. We have heard his wisdom, laughed with him, been punished by his rath and he is always on the job.

Many years ago when JB hit a milestone he was named the Ancient Mariner which was an honor for the work he performed. We had an official Dockboy title for a great young man....who is actually just about finishing up college.... these were "untouchable titles".

JB has exceeded 30K posts! We need a change of title for him. It should be a title no one else can attain regardless of posts because he got his the old fashion way.

I think we should start this with some suggested titles...... It's time for a change!

Suggestions anyone?

Neptune?

Santiago ... from the Old Man & the Sea? He was humble, yet confident in his ability ... full of wisdom and willing to take an appretice under his wing.

The only name that comes to mind right now is "The Man"
He has helped so many, not only on here, but off the forums also.
He has been mentor to some fine young fellows along the way also.
I have had question and he has always been there to try to answer them to the best of his knowledge.
As I said, "The Man" is the only one I can think of.
A big congrats JB and looking forward to many more posts by you.

Re: JB Title Thread

JB years ago chose the name Ancient Mariner. i recommend that we consider him, in this discussion. my suggestion it to add another description. and allow JB to keep his status, and his self chosen name, forever. there is only one Ancient Mariner.

Re: JB Title Thread

Thanks, Daddy.

I was honored by being offered the opportunity to title myself years ago. There was a list of suggested titles that rang of power and authority. I don't like that sort of title so I asked for "Ancient Mariner". I am honored to have it and would like to keep it.

I am not offended that tashasdaddy was so titled when he passed 20,000 posts. He is a great helper and a great moderator and deserves a special title in my view.

I am honored and a little embarrassed by Bob_VT's suggestion, but would like to suggest that we re-direct this discussion to suggesting an appropriate title for tashasdaddy, clearly the most prolific helper we have or have had.

And there is the problem ... there is only one JB, Ancient Mariner. And no offense to you, TD, but JB needs a special moniker, or addition, to his name to differentiate him from the crowd. He deserves the added respect ... not from the "older" crowd, but from the newbies.

So, what do you say, JB?

you know what is funny about this, is i really don't pay any attention to the count. also, probably 75% of my post would not have been needed if the person had used the search function of the forum.

JB you deserve the recognition. Glad you are embarrassed :D

Possible title change for TD may be in order so you may remain the only Ancient Mariner!

Re: JB Title Thread

Well, I've checked my on line thesaurus and came up with an appropriate title, with definitions, of course.

exalted
adjective 1. high-ranking, high, grand, honoured, intellectual, noble, prestigious, august, elevated, eminent, dignified, lofty
adjective 2. noble, ideal, superior, elevated, intellectual, uplifting, sublime, lofty, high-minded
adjective 3. elated, excited, inspired, stimulated, elevated, animated, uplifted, transported, exhilarated, ecstatic, jubilant, joyous, joyful, over the moon (informal) blissful, rapturous, exultant, in high spirits, on cloud nine (informal) ****-a-hoop, in seventh heaven, inspirited, stoked Austral., N.Z. (informal)

Therefore, I find it only appropriate that JB be given the title of Exalted Mariner
