I haven't noticed any post from JB on any of the forums that he used to visit. Hope nothing bad has happened to him. I know that he had a heart attack or two earlier on in his life.

How about it JB, are you still around?

Howdy,Round2it.

Stopped using the Cornwell a while back. It's easier for people to spell just plain JB. :D

If you'll note, I passed 8,000 posts recently.

Thanks for your interest. :)

Moving this to Nothing To Do With Boats.

I just hadn't seen you around other forums that you used to visit. Iboats keeps you busy it looks like.

Yeah, after I posted the message, I saw where you were still active. Also after posting, I updated my email address which changed my password. I was on a different firewalled computer that couldn't access that address until I got home so I couldn't edit the message.

FEEL FREE TO DELETE THIS POST

Re: jb

Yeah, that's another reason.

I thought when I got out of Jr. High that I was done with stupid jerks who thought it is funny to ridicule someone's name.

We had the Legg family where I grew up; Seymore and Harry. Then I moved to Houston and it was the Hogg family; Ima and Ura. Can't remember the rest of the family, but I'm sure they took some ribbing too.

Re: jb

Well, as I said, in Jr. High it was stupid jerks. That form of cruelty is common in children.

Now, adults who do the same thing? Is there an appropriate name for them? That is the sort of thing bullys might do. . .anything they can find to inflict pain on another. "Ribbing" is a cruel practice, and definitely not funny.

Flashback: My Cornwell ancestors came to New England from England in the early 1700s, went to Canada during the revolution (Torys). Some returned in the early 1800s and settled in western Virginia and Kentucky. A John Cornwell was once Governor of Kentucky. My Great Grandfather was the artist, Dean Cornwell, whose branch of the family returned to New England around 1880.

Yea LadyFish, I'm sure they did with names like that.
I was not lucky enough to know anyone with names like that.
I am such a bully. :D

Hey JB, chill out some man, we all get it one way or the other.

Hey my last name is Wright, you know the Wright brothers that flew the first airplane.
They were distant cousins of mine.

Here's one, "See, two wrongs can make a Wright"
That was said all the time about my parents, but I did not go off the deep end about it.
Just a way of life.

Sorry if corncobs offended anyone.

Re: jb

BTW, if anyone is interested, here is the last part of Governor John Cornwell's inaugural address on March 5, 1917.

I think he was Governor of West Viginia if it's the same on that JB speaks of.

Re: jb

Look, guys.

SBN and Ken are my friends and I want it to stay that way. I'm not interested in starting a war over it, but I have a thin skin when it comes to making fun of people, ridiculing them for any reason. It is rude and cruel, no matter how common it is.

We do not have to be rude or crude to have a good time here, or even to have a good laugh.

Let's be kind to one another. :)

Re: jb

JB, It was all in good faith I guarantee it.
I would not/will not make fun of anyone in a nasty nature.

Hey the way I got it figured is as long as they are picking on me, then they are leaving someone else alone. :D
