Re: JD Power ratings

Sorry, my math was a bit off. I think on average, one would expect a minimum usage of 20 hours per years. This is very low. Consider that in 20 hours, at 55 mph, you would only travel 1100 miles. I know it's not a one to one comparison, but at 150 hours, the same analogy would give you a 1995 car with only 8250 miles. Like I said, not really a fair comparison, but I think you get the point. That Sea Ray model is a really nice boat. I believe for that vintage it would have rated one of the best. But still, I think the guys is really high in his asking price. When I see an add like this, I watch it for a while and see what happens. If it sells and I didn't get it, I figure it just wasn't meant to be.

I guess that was my main question about this boat, thank you.

I don't think he will ever get that price in this market, with everything else for sale. Unless he finds a complete idiot. But heck, I'm emailed the seller twice and can't ge a return.

But like you said, a great time to find a deal. Gotta be patient, something that tends to be tough for me.:D

Another thing to keep in mind are the guys who are "advised" by there spouse to "get rid of that dam boat" for whatever reason,so its up for sale..albeit it at a price No-One would touch,And then there's the disgruntled ex-wife,who got the boat in divorce proceedings....didnt really want it,and to spite her ex , sells the thing for half its worth, had one around here,2005 Contender 32 offshore w triple 250 yama's for 10K, no-one bit 'cause everyone figured it was 100K, until she relocated it on the lot across from bridge access onto Ocean Isle, big sign - "10 thousand or best offer" boys tripping over each other at the bank.......
So bide your time....this economic meltdown is FAR from over, soon boats will hit the lowest price seen in years, especially used sitting on dealer lots.

Well, I'll be on the lookout..I'd appreciate you(plural) passing any good deals you find, my way. I'm looking for a nice 18-20ft bowrider I/O 4.3. Back to back seating with jumpseats. If I have to drive a little ways, for a good deal I would. I'm in Phoenix, AZ. I'm in no hurry, and might even wait until my next season is over.
